How to search a La Paz property by cadastral code
Distinguish district, block, parcel and entrance number in the municipal La Paz map.
In La Paz, an address and a cadastral code provide different search routes. Before researching a property, separate the zone name, entrance number and parcel reference. Entering a door number into a cadastral field can return no result without establishing anything about whether the place exists.
Put each identifier in its intended field
The municipal cadastral map supports address searches and codes organised by district, block and parcel. It also presents entrance, block and lot layers. Retain the components of the reference you received instead of rearranging them into what appears to be one number.
Start with the most complete identifier available. Zoom until you recognise the access streets and enable only the layers needed to check the match. On a sloping street, establish which frontage provides access: a point on the upper road does not automatically identify an entrance from the lower road. Keep that observation separate from the mapped parcel boundary.
Evaluate the match
Record the returned code, visible entrance and selected outline separately. If two agree while the third differs, describe the discrepancy. A useful note might read: “The block matches, but the supplied number corresponds to another entrance.” Do not select a neighbouring parcel merely because its shape looks more like the advertisement.
For an apartment, the unit details and its relationship to the building remain separate questions. For land, do not measure a roof and call it lot area. Retain the query date and municipal map view so your next question has a precise location. You can then investigate terrain or risk layers without losing the identity of the initial object.
A building for practising the distinction
The verified Terraes record represents a 2691.2 m² footprint at -16.49613, -68.13301. The query on 22 September 2026 returned this Overture record, release 2026-08-19.0. This is footprint area; it does not identify an apartment or establish rights over the land. Use the example to recognise which object you are reading before applying the official query to your property.

Mapped footprints do not establish legal ownership or apartment floor area. Advertisements describe asking prices; area references are neither recorded sale prices nor official appraisals.
